The 2022 Met Gala took place in New Your City, on May 2. The fundraiser event had a unique theme for this year, called “In America: An Anthology of Fashion”, which had the Gilded Age at its core.
The celebrities wore “gilded glamour” outfits, a style that represents the extravagance of the wealthy people at that time. However, the icons, such as Rihanna, Beyoncé, Zendaya, and Lady Gaga did not attend the Met Gala. On the other hand, other celebrities went overboard with their glamourous looks. Let’s have a look!
1. Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson
Kim Kardashian wore the same gown Marilyn Monroe wore to sing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy in 1962. Pete Davidson, on the other hand, wore a slim black suit and black shades.
2. Kacey Musgraves
Kacey went all in!
She wore a tight, black satin dress and looked gorgeous! She even walked the Met Gala carpet with a fan!
3. Blake Lively
Blake is the co-chair of the Met Gala and of course, she would nail her look! She wore an exquisite gown, unfurling a ‘matching and sweeping’!
She said her dress’ design and colors were inspired by New York City architecture.
4. Shawn Mendes
Mendes wore a turtleneck under his navy tailored outfit! He removed the jacket to expose a double-breasted suit, which he rocked!
5. Maude Apatow
Maude wore a Miu Miu off-the-shoulder dress. The dress itself was covered in crystals and beaded fringe. The details of black velvet and the lace were complimented with dark lipstick and a diamond choker.
6. Evan Mock
Evan wore a yellow suit to get our attention! The suit was designed by the CFDA finalist Head of State.
7. Jack Harlow
It was his first time at the Met Gala! Jack Harlow wore a classic brown satin Givenchy suit and a thin tie.
8. Billie Eilish
Billie went for an upcycled green-and-yellow corset Gucci dress with a cream-colored satin skirt.
9. Cardi B
Cardi B wore a fitting gold gown made in more than 1,300 hours by Versace.
10. Megan Thee Stallion
Megan chose gold, as well. She wore a Moschino gown with four waist cutouts and feather-shaped shoulder pads.
11. Janelle Monáe
Janelle wore a futuristic gilded glamour by Ralph Lauren. The dress was sleeveless, combined with a beautiful custom-made headpiece.
12. Camila Cabello
Camilla wore a crop top with criss-cross straps across her chest. The skirt had a long train with pastel fabric flowers.
13. Normani
She wore a black two-piece by Christian Siriano. The top had oversized sleeves combined with a dropped-waist skirt. She also wore a black hat with a bow on it.
14. Tommy Dorman
Cannot say if a latex dress goes with the chosen theme, but she rocked it.
15. Mindy Kaling
Mindy wore a Grecian-style dress that was more tamer than other looks on the carpet.
16. Jon Batiste
Jon Batiste wore a simple suit, but the details of the rope knots emblazoned on the hem of the blazer were indeed eye-catchy.
17. Emma Stone
Ema wore a knee-length, satin Louis Vuitton dress that was also her wedding after-party dress. She looks gorgeous!
18. Joe Jonas & Sophie Turner
The couple rocked the carpet! Sophie wore a monochromatic look, showing her pregnancy bump. On the other hand, Joe Jonas wore an asymmetrical white jacket.
