A humiliating incident of being stuck on a slide at a local park with her son made Sara Lockett confront her size. The memory of her husband having to pull her off the play equipment was etched in her mind, pushing her to take charge of her life.
Due to pregnancies, gestational diabetes, and preeclampsia, the 25-year-old’s weight is 252 pounds.
“I didn’t have the best diet and suffered from binging. I’d eat what I could during the day and then have two dinners in the evening and lots of snacks…I would consume 3,000 calories daily, and chow down on Pop-Tarts for breakfast before having a burger, chicken nuggets, and a large sugary soda for lunch,” said the mom-of-two, as per The Post. For dinner, Sara often has homemade fried chicken with macaroni and cheese.
After the slip-up, Sara began shedding weight naturally, adopting a new diet and exercise regimen.

She said for Carter News that she experienced a humiliating incident that was burned into her memory: “One time my son was too scared to go down the slide on his own and wanted us to go on together. So, I tried to go on with him and when the slide took a turn, I got stuck and couldn’t go down any further. My husband had to come over and pull me out. That moment is burned into my memory. I knew I had to try something else to get my life back.”
After giving birth to her two children, Ameliana (4) and Roman (2), the mother struggled to lose weight due to being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

As an alternative, physicians recommended her a gastric sleeve for weight loss and hormone regulation. She said: “I had my surgery in September 2021 and luckily, my insurance paid for 98% of it. I had mixed feelings about the surgery. I was so excited, but I knew it would also be a mental journey where I had to work on balancing my lifestyle and my relationship with food.”
Thanks to constant exercise and a commitment to healthy eating, Sara has surpassed her goal weight of 153 pounds and now weighs 116 pounds.
“After the surgery, I went through the recovery stages. I had to start with a liquid diet before moving on to a soft food diet while I adjusted to my new stomach. The weight started coming off, and it was encouraging, but I started seeing massive changes when I began working out six weeks after my surgery,” continued Sara.
The mother chooses a small portion of rice, steamed veggies, and minced turkey for lunch, and for dinner, she enjoys chicken or shrimp wrapped in lettuce leaves.

“I don’t have to worry about not fitting down the slide with them now,” shared Sara, who is thrilled she can be active with her young children.

She expressed her excitement by saying, “I feel better than I have ever felt. I can run around with my kids and play with them at the park.”
Despite that, the energetic mother emphasized that she feels better than before and has reclaimed her life.
What do you think of Sara’s journey? Do you think that humiliating incident was what she needed to start the change? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
She really does look much better and I commend her for going through with it. I really wish I could have it done. Some insurances won’t cover it. I really want to be thin. I am afraid of having the after effects, It’s known to cause a persons hair to thin out, I’ve seen several people’s faces looking really old and very wrinkly, the loss of their breast mass and the severe sagging of them, tooth decay, wrinkled stretch marks in the excess skin, and just over all possibly looking like a sickly person. Sara looks healthy at the moment. I have family members that over time, started to lose too much weight and just look much older then they are and not healthy. My bf said they’ve lost the “glow”. It is an extreme price to pay to be thin. I would love to be able to go to a store and try everything on that would actually fit. So, Pick your poison, fat and unhealthy or thin and unhealthy.
Someone extremely close to me got gastric bypass and their face looks very old and wrinkled now. More so than it should. Also she has developed neurological problems and can’t seem to remember things from her past. She has seizures that are unexplainable even from her doctors. She does not look healthy to me at all and continues to lose weight. I don’t think gastric bypass is everything that they say it is.
Impossible without an expensive knife! Where are the skin flaps?!
Congratulations your my inspiration! Keep being the strong RockStar that you are!
She’s beautiful …….very beautiful to look at….just be confident and the rest will follow..keep the positive attitude.
