A husband, Scott, from Houston, Texas, and his wife, Divine, from the Philippines, have been married for over five years. Despite their happy relationship, Scott often receives cruel trolling and insults for his looks, especially after their TikTok content went viral. Nonetheless, the couple continues to have fun together and showcase their love.
In February 2017, their relationship started with a mistaken Facebook message from Divine.
In a short while, the couple began a long-distance relationship, and in November 2017, Scott made a bold move by traveling to the Philippines to meet Divine in person for the first time.
After Scott’s proposal and his return flight, he and Divine continued their long-distance relationship for four more years until she finally relocated to the US to marry him.
As of 2021, they began creating content showcasing their daily lives as a husband and wife.
However, the couple frequently receives cruel comments from those who believe Scott is “too ugly” or that Divine is a gold digger seeking his money or a green card.
Scott opened up to Truly about his life-changing battle with a chronic autoimmune disease, which he revealed had left him feeling stuck before meeting his wife, Divine.
He said: “Before I met Divine, life was pretty boring. My life was at a total standstill.”
Having been diagnosed with Scleroderma at the age of 13, his appearance has transformed over the years, and as a result, he is accustomed to receiving unsavory comments.
He shared: “Because you keep seeing the same thing over and over again. There’s just no effect anymore. We’re just two normal people… there’s always going to be someone out there that’s not going to think about it.”
Due to his appearance, the husband has faced numerous unwarranted questions and comments, to which the couple sometimes responds with snarky remarks.
Their love remains unbreakable, evident from their massive social media following of over 264k.
