In an interview, Peterson shared that the Fight Club actor allowed his elderly neighbor to stay on his property until he passed away without charging any rent. The generous act of Brad Pitt, 59, has impressed the internet. He allowed his 105-year-old neighbor to live rent-free in his $39 million home.
In 1994, Cassandra Peterson, the Elvira star, sold her home to Brad Pitt, who unintentionally became a landlord.
Pitt acquired the magnificent residence for a staggering sum of $1.7 million, oblivious to the fact that an unanticipated occupant would be residing on his premises for approximately three decades. In an interview with People magazine, Peterson revealed how the renowned Hollywood actor became her enduring neighbor and how the centenarian came to be situated on his estate.
Peterson recollects that the actor gradually increased the size of his property during his stay there.
She said: “I think there were like 22 houses that were contiguous to the edge of the property. And every time they came up he bought one.”
Peterson stated that an elderly man in his early nineties owned one of those properties, and Pitt eventually negotiated a deal with him that enabled the senior citizen to continue living in his residence. She said: “He was very, very kind to the husband. His wife passed away and the husband, John, lived there. I know that Brad allowed him to live there without paying anything until he died.”
John’s arrangement turned out to be longer than anticipated due to the fact that he lived beyond the age of 100, which caused laughter: “It was kind of funny because John lived to be 105.”
She added: “I imagine Brad was thinking well, you know, he can live there till he dies, which might be any minute now.”
Peterson recounts her experience of residing in a neighborhood with a renowned celebrity. Over time, she has commended Pitt’s amiable and genial demeanor. Additionally, she divulged insights into Pitt’s behind-the-scenes preparation for one of his most memorable portrayals as Tyler Durden in Fight Club.
During the interview, the woman recollected an instance when she was taking her dogs for a walk and noticed the actor, which left a lasting impression on her.
She said: I go past Brad’s garage and he’s in there wearing only sweatpants. He’s got on boxing gloves and he is punching a bag. I swear I almost fainted. I remember he goes, ‘Hey, how are you?’ and I’m like, ‘Huh?’ I couldn’t talk. I was turning red. I felt like I was fainting. He’s just so stunningly, stunningly handsome — and nice, to top it off.”
