Dyllan Proves Sizing Can Be a Lie

Dyllan, a proud member of the “chunky cutie club,” took it upon herself to try on various high street jeans in plus size to spare her followers the trouble.

As she went through one pair after another, it became increasingly evident that sizing is not a universal concept across companies. With her viral videos, Dyllan makes a strong case that sizing can indeed be a lie, and a number is merely that – a number.

As a size-16 fashionista, Dyllan shared: “They’re making things off of what they believe is a size 16.”

Starting her video with “Hi, Welcome to my episode of why we can’t trust the size on the tag,” she shared with her 472,000 TikTok followers that despite being a size 20 in the UK and 14 to 16 in the US, she had purchased 18 pairs of jeans, all in the same size 16.

While some pairs of clothes seemed to fit her comfortably, Dyllan had to make comical attempts to squeeze into others.

The confident woman tried on every pair of jeans and boldly declared: “Every jeans that I try on is gonna be a size 16 and you’re gonna see that they all fit me entirely differently.”

She elaborated that each clothing company has its specifications for sizing, resulting in inconsistency across brands. As she continued, “You know how because every single brand and every single company has their own set of specs.”

She said: “They are making things off of what they believe is a size 16. That’s why nothing makes sense and that’s why we can’t be stressed over the number on the tag.”

Viewers found her video to be a refreshing change as they could relate to the struggles depicted in it.

Someone commented: “It’s the hip hula hoop pull for me. I like to do the drop it hot stretch them jeans every time.”

“I need this when I’m in the fitting room wanting to cry because I honestly have no idea what size I am anymore,” commented another.

Another wrote: “The struggle is Real!!”
