Martha Stewart, the 81-year-old business magnate and TV producer, has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the oldest woman ever to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit annual 2023 issue.
Among the chosen models by the publication were Megan Fox, Kim Petras, Brooks Nader, and Martha Stewart, making a remarkable quartet of cover stars.
The founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, gracefully showcased her physique in ten swimsuits, deeming the experience a historic moment for herself and older women alike.
“I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic and that I better look really good,” she said.
Photographed in the Punta Cana area of the Dominican Republic, Martha Stewart’s historic shoot for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit was captured by renowned photographer Ruven Afanador, known for his work in Vogue, The New York Times, Elle, and Vanity Fair.
Reflecting on her Magazine experience, she shared that while she doesn’t dwell on age, being featured on the cover at her stage in life was undeniably a significant milestone for her.

When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, “Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person, I think, ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated,”‘ she said.
She added: “Age is not the determining factor in terms of friendship or in terms of success, but what people do, how people think, how people act, that’s what’s important and not your age.”
In addition to her bestselling books and TV shows, Martha Stewart discussed the challenges she faced during her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit shoot in an interview with Today.
“For me, it is a testament to good living”‘ she said. “I think that all of us should think about good living, successful living, and not about aging. The whole aging thing is so boring.”
The mother and grandmother shared her fitness journey before the shoot, expressing her determination to shine on the magazine’s cover.

“I didn’t starve myself, but I didn’t eat any bread or pasta for a couple months. I went to Pilates every other day,” she said. “I live a clean life anyway. Good diet and good exercise and healthy skin care and all of that stuff, but it was kind of fun.”
Martha playfully admitted feeling a bit “odd” posing in swimsuits before everyone, but in the end, everything turned out just fine.
