New Dad’s Hilarious Baby Announcement Goes Viral

A new dad turned his baby announcement into an internet hit after joking that his wife looked so good after giving birth, people might think he was the one who had just delivered their child.

The couple’s hilarious hospital photo went viral after it was shared on Reddit by user tyleryoungblood. Instead of posting the kind of emotional newborn picture most parents choose, they decided to have a little fun with it.

And the whole thing started because of how surprisingly fresh his wife looked just 24 hours after giving birth.

“Our baby announcement photo. My wife looked so obnoxiously thin 24 hours after delivery that I joked I looked like the one who had just delivered. So we decided to swap for a funny photo,” the new dad explained in his post.

Once they had the idea, they didn’t do it halfway.

For their baby announcement, Dad climbed straight into the hospital bed, put on a hospital gown and surgical cap, and carefully held their newborn against his chest.

He even managed to look like the exhausted new parent recovering from delivery.

Meanwhile, his wife stood next to the bed in a summer dress.

If you didn’t know what had happened during the previous 24 hours, you probably wouldn’t guess she was the one who had actually given birth. She looked relaxed, happy, and remarkably refreshed while her husband played the role of the recovering patient.

Someone else admitted what plenty of people were probably thinking after seeing the baby announcement: “To be fair she does look really great for having just given birth lol.”

Of course, the dad didn’t escape the comments either.

One Reddit user joked, “I’m offended at your wife on behalf of my wife.”

Another noticed that the husband somehow managed to look like the more exhausted parent in the photograph, writing: “You somehow look more tired too.”

But one comment ended up being particularly fitting.

“If this doesn’t become a family tradition, I’ll [be] sorely disappointed,” the person wrote.

As it turns out, they were already ahead of them.

The dad later revealed that this wasn’t the last time the family recreated the joke. When someone suggested keeping the funny baby announcement tradition alive, he responded: “It has! We have one with our son too! :)”
