  1. This is such wonderful tattooing artwork! Just beautiful – turning scars into stars. Imho of course.

  2. Scars be be a way of remembering a life changing event & of course some don’t like to remember those times so what’s more perfect than getting a beautiful tattoo on the other hand if you are thinking about getting a tattoo please do your research on the right artist because some are charlitons & don’t know how to tattoo never mind tattooing scared skin because it is harder to do it can be thinner & thicker on the same scar & god for bid you end up with a tattoo that looks worse than the scar.

  3. My stomach is a laberyth of scar. I have thought of this very thing. I thought I was nuts. Now I’m seriously thinking of getting the tats. Thanks I’m really not nuts. ????

    • I didn’t know about oils and lotion back when I had my 1st baby. My God can this really be a thing…I have an old tattoo on my arm i will start with finding someone who can do a beautiful cover up for me on that. I hate my tummy for most of my life … I’m sure it would help me love myself again.

        • You can check in your town or anywhere they have a shop to find your artist. I would have a picture of the tattoo you want to make sure they can make it work. You can also Google tattoo artists in your area and check them out before you go see them. Their reputation, artwork and rating usually at your fingertips. Good luck

          • Be careful I searched locally got a well rated tattooist. Randomly pick a review of rose tattooist. Rated 5/5 but.. was a perfect rose, a first tattooist to be 2-3″. Was still beautiful but when customer took break during outline just blossom was front thigh, completed 12″. Was not dainty or able to hide. Family, boyfriend, and customer devastated. I met her at shop, left to rethink my ???? idea.Seeing these research again. 5/5 rating and she was still miserable years later????????☺️try it

    • Same here. I had an emergency ectopic pregnancy back in 1983. Now I’m thinking the same thing. A tattoo to hide the scar

    • I covered the scars on my arm and it was the best decision I’ve ever made! I’m more confident now than I have been in a very long time.

  4. I have a scar on my shoulder after operation, but need an idea what kind of tattoo art to create. Still thinkig what I want. ????

    • Visit artists that are highly recommended for consultation. They can give you ideas and might sketch something up. You can always say no. Good luck, Friend.

      • I really want to get a sleeve on my left arm because its a complete mess of scars I just need to figure out what to get in it I love the idea of turning something traumatic into something I find beautiful!!

        • How about a beautiful feathered angel wing? It would be lovely! Just a thought……….

  5. I have some scars and have been wondering if I should get tattoo cover ups. This beautiful art might be the push I needed.

  6. I love these tattoos they are all beautifully done how different each one is just need to no where an who did them great job gives them more confident in them self

    • Is this a certain kind of tattoo artist for these scar tattoos cause I have a burn on my feet I would love to cover up.

      • Hello.. I would love to do this.. I have a 21″ long scar around half my body.. I am only afraid that it would hurt in that area bc it still gives me grief..

      • It hurts anyway. But to tat people, we sorta look forward to the “pain”. After 3 or 4….no biggie. Didn’t notice when he got to my scar. He always asks if I’m ????

    • I recently had a triple bypass surgery that was necessitated by discovery of 2 main Arteries that were completely blocked and the 3rd was 95% blocked. I now have a vertical scar where my Sternum was cut and opened.
After all checks out I am considering a Christian tattoo with JESUS on the Cross 6″ to 7″ over my scar and my prayer to keep in my heart that he saved.
I am truly impressed with the magical and skilled craftsmanship in these wonderfully imagined and crafted tattoos by these fantastic Artists.

      • Glad you’re feeling better. You’ll need to wait a good while at least a year maybe even 18 months possibly even longer considering the length and type of scar you have before getting tattooed, even if it looks completely healed. That’s what I’ve been told by numerous tattoo artists after getting my ICD implanted (internal cardiac defibrillator).

      • I have the same scar almost from my throat to naval. I already had a tat on each side of my chest. I’m concerned about how long I need to stop blood thinners.

  7. I have many little scars from Lupus sores ony arms, legs & even breats. They’re quite prominent & this is the perfect way to cover them up. I’m embarrassed to even go out in public without being fully covered. My only concern is, there’s lots of little scars that cover the whole forearm & my legs are from ankle to thigh. Don’t want a full arm or leg tat. These tats are beautiful. Props to the artists & people that had the courage to get them done.

    • If it bothers you…do it. Only for you, not for others. To me, time fades them in my mind.
Scars are a badge of honor. I’ve quite a few. I earned them.

    • I have some of those too plus some quite prominent ones on my knees and one ankle from multiple surgeries, plus I keloided in a few of them. I don’t think I want a sleeve or full leg tat but the little ones make little flowers, bigger ones you could work out with your artist. Yes, I do consider these badges of honor but who is to say maybe it’s time to bury those memories and celebrate what is to come.

  8. I have lots of unsightly scars from Lupus sores & this would be the perfect way to cover them up. I’m embarrassed to even go out in public without being fully covered. Only concern is, there’s lots of little scars that cover the forearm & my ankle to thigh. I don’t want a full tat on both legs, so maybe a vine like some I’ve seen. Such beautiful tats. Now I have to decide what designs to do.

    • Here is a few ideas for you.
      1) A seeded dandelion with it seedlings blown in the air.
      2) A group of butterflies tastefully flying by a vine or flower.
3). A flock of birds over The horizon big a sunset.

    • Maybe you could go to a cosmetic tattooist and they can match your skin tone to make them less noticeable in places and save tattoos for the larger harder to mask areas

    • Hi Diane A, I’d say to get lots of references from friends, relatives etc on who they use if you like their tats. Also check online referrals like Yelp etc. Obviously you need to get a tattoo artist that is well-versed in covering scars & is also extremely talented who makes realistic designs. Most tattoo artists I’ve seen love to come up with their own designs to sketch up for you to approve. If you have an idea of the type you’d like to get, like florals in this article, they can provide you with a new design that you’ll be happy with. I hope you find someone great to create a cover-up that you’re happy with!

  9. Awesome work. I just got some great ideas and I am so glad to see something we can use to cover things we don’t like on our bodies at least for me anyway. Now I know what I’m going to do with the scars on my body.

  10. Love these! Mine should be on here as well. I have grafts covering my arms from a house fire and my tattoo artist did wonders.

  11. All of them were awesome and amazing. I have a scar all the way down my spine from two surgeries on my back and would love to get something like this done someday. Thanks for the inspiration ????.

  12. It is amazingly wonderful how you have changed unsightly scars into beautiful works of art. Congratulations on a job well done!!

    • Which photo do you think that about? I thought the foot one, the last one because in the 1st pic the toes look different like a man’s and the big toe is a whole toenail bigger than the toe beside but not in the next pic or could just be the angle??

  13. VERY AWESOME ARTWORK!!!!!!!????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  14. Diane A,
Since you mentioned that they were all little scars, you could do a few things depending on your own style, of course. I am a girly girl and love hearts and roses for example. You could something like a bouquet of roses or whatever flower you prefer on breast to cover that one, and then smaller falling flowers or just the pedals falling down your body from there… but since you said there’s lots, doing a theme like that, I think would look cool. Maybe even mix up hearts, flowers, all different colors done with the water color effect. Don’t like hearts/flowers, how about stars ✨ or celestial type theme, could have comets, shooting stars, the moon, etc. Of course, it just comes down to something you really really like and would want on your body forever. How about your favorite animal and have paw prints so it looks like they were just walking on you… Soo many options of small things to do a theme that wouldn’t look weird.

  15. Depending on the location of the scar and most scars are extremely sensitive….really depends tho….I am very surprised no one or the person that posted these have answered your question….that is concerning as well. Well I hope this answer has helped in one way or another.

    • Thats kind of the point, isnt it? The fact that you think this is evidence of a job well done.

    • My scars are numb to the touch, so I’m thinking it’d just feel kinda weird and gross lol I have a scar that was supposed to be covered by a tattoo, but the tattoo artist told me they don’t hold ink???so it’s very close to the scar and it just felt really weird.

  16. Hi I have unsightly scars on my stomach an love to get it tattooed, but have a few more surgeries to go but when I’m done I will have it all tattoo over

  17. Be proud of your scars! This is a beautiful way we can be proud of our wounds! You couldn’t say any one of them was ugly after the tattoo! I have seen a couple of large jobs women have had done after breast removal, there are some very talented people around!

  18. How bad does it hurt on scar tissue? I have a scar similar to the longer one on the woman’s thigh and just touching a part of the scar makes me want to pass out and I’ve wanted to cover it up since it happened

  19. Many years over 20 yrs ago I slit my wrist. When my son was 5 and daughter was not even a year old yet I had the scare covered with a infinity love tattoo. I didn’t won’t my children asking what that scar was. I was in a bad marriage and in a dark time back then.

  20. This are amazing! This tattoo artist gave those people truly happiness. Now they are free os scars covered by a beautiful artistic drawing. Good job.excellent artist

  21. They are quite good.

I was thinking about covering the one on the back of my neck.

  22. I had I have quite a few scars just broke femur but would think tattoo would hurt the scar guess just think it would’ve sensitive

  23. whoever this tattoo artist is has to get a bigger range of pictures for his cover-ups because all these tattoo’s are the same thing he just adds more leaves or branches to the cover-up he really needs to branch out, ha, ha, ha,

  24. For everyone who asks who the artist is, and where they are located… it has a link under each of the pictures giving her credit and taking you to her post for each. She is located in São Paulo, Brazil it says.

  25. These tattoos look great over scars I have horrible scars from my waisted area to my thighs

  26. These are amazing transformations. I have had both hips totally replaced, but that seems to be a VERY sensitive area to get what may be a very painful tattoo. Has anybody had tattoos done on or near the hip bone?

    • Honestly, any tattoo you would get over a scar on any part of the body is going to be more painful than tattooing healthy skin.
The artist is literally stabbing needles into super fine tissue that could tare very easily. Granted, if you have an artist that knows what they are doing they would be extremely careful and use as little pressure as possible. (Con about that is the tattoo will fade quicker because the ink isn’t as far into the skin)
Instead of asking people online, do some of your own research. A 2 minute Google search can tell you LOTS. ????????????
      Good luck.

  27. I have surgery scars in 5 different places that I’ve thought of covering. And most places are in this story… not I know it can be done correctly with research ????… these are beautiful ????????

  28. The “solving” of the situations pictured here are incredible. My daughter wants to augment/downplay her scar from her cancer port.

  29. So many scars on my heart???? any one to recommend me to any good artist to cover it……

    • What does that even mean? Like scaring literally on your heart inside your chest? Or scaring on the outside of the body on skin?

Also you would have better luck doing a Google search for “tattoo artists that cover scars”
      Or
“Scar covering tattoo artists near me”
      Or even
“Top rated tattoo artists in my area”
      Good luck ????????

  30. Absolutely Amazing.
I’ve got scars on my arms and this has me thinking about getting more tattoos to cover my scars.

  31. I have lots of scars from 8 operations. They are the roadmap to town ‘Me’. I wouldn’t want to cover them and I’ve been through enough pain without adding this to the mix!
