The vast majority of people have warts. They might be small, and harmless but sometimes big, and risky. Human papillomavirus is responsible for getting warts, and it can also be spread easily.
There are many ways how to get rid of warts, which of course should be treated and discussed with a medical professional.
However, Viral Strange has gathered 6 ways how to prevent or avoid getting warts in the first place.
1. Moisturize!
Do not skip this step of your skincare! Moisturize your skin daily to keep preventing not only the appearance of wrinkles but of warts, also. Dehydrated skin is prone to getting Human papillomavirus easier through cracks in your skin.
2. Do not bite your nails.
Nail biting might seem unrelated to this matter, but hear us out what happens. This habit creates tiny tears in your skin, even though you cannot see them. In this way, it might be easier for the virus to get into your skin and create warts.
3. Don’t share a towel with someone else.
Personal hygiene first! Stop sharing your towel with someone else, even if they are family. It might cause papillomas and warts to appear on your skin if another family member might have them.
4. Wear flip-flops at the pool.
Be sure to always wear your flip-flops when wandering around the pool. In a humid environment alongside your moist feet, it might be easier to get bacteria and the virus that causes warts, too.
5. Treat and cover your cuts.
When you get a cut, clean it first and then cover it with a bandage. If you leave it open, you might touch something full of bacteria and viruses, so you might get warts easily, or worse, an infection.
6. Do not shave over a wart.
Try to use a different method to get rid of your body hair. Shaving over a wart will allow the virus to spread to other areas of your skin, so you will end up with more warts.
