The rebrand of Victoria’s Secret is innovating! Their famous Angel Wings got replaced by a team of 7 accomplished women, bringing a new era with “VS Collective”.
Victoria’s Secret is well-known worldwide. It was founded in the 1970s and it’s known for its beautiful lingerie, clothing, and beauty. In 1998, Victoria’s Secret introduced its supermodels aka Angels.
1. Adut Akech
Adut Akech was born in 1999. She started her career as a model in 2017. After that, she was chosen as “Model of the Year” by models.com for the two upcoming years. She said: “Being part of the VS Collective marks such a special moment, and I feel blessed to be part of a group that celebrates and empowers individuality.” Adut is a refugee and also a mental wellness supporter.
2. Priyanka Chopra Jonas
Priyanka Chopra Jonas is famous. She’s enrolled in the TV world as an actress, producer, and singer. Priyanka is the winner of the Miss World 2000 pageant. She supports many social causes like women’s rights, the environment, and gender equality. “I am most excited for new customers, and for those who have always been a customer of Victoria’s Secret, to feel represented and as they belong,” Priyanka added.
3. Paloma Elsesser
Paloma is a Swiss-American plus-size model born in Britain. She has modeled for big brands like Nike, Fenty Beauty, and Mercedes-Benz. Paloma is a body advocate and community creator. She added: “I’m beyond excited to partner with Victoria’s Secret in this capacity and to support our collective mission to embrace and celebrate the vastness and beauty of womanhood.”
4. Amanda de Cadenet
Amanda de Cadenet is a journalist, photographer, GirlGaze founder, and equality advocate. She hosts a podcast where the founding members of VS share their stories and experiences. “True change comes from the inside out and that a group of aligned people can shift culture,” said Amanda about ‘VS Collective”.
5. Megan Rapinoe
In 2012, Megan Rapinoe won a gold medal in London Olympics and also FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015 and 2019.
“So often I felt myself on the outside looking in with brands in the beauty and fashion industry and I’m thrilled to be creating a space that sees the true spectrum of ALL women,” said Megan. She is an LGBTQIA+ activist, a pay equity crusader, and a professional soccer player.
6. Valentina Sampaio
Valentina Sampaio became Victoria’s Secret model in August 2019. She was the first transgender model, part of “VS Collective”. She is a Brazilian LGBTQIA+ activist and actress. Valentina is an advocate for transgender equality and awareness. She said: “As a powerful global platform, Victoria’s Secret is committed to opening these doors for trans women like me, by celebrating, uplifting, and advocating for ALL women.”
7. Eileen Gu
Eileen Gu is a model and a world champion freeskier. She advocates for youth & women’s sports. Eileen said: “I am so honored to be a part of such an inspiring group of women and to work with a brand that is looking to break boundaries and use their platform to uplift, champion, and advocate for women across the world.”
