Australian influencer, Bree Lenehan, uses her social media to expose the reality behind the perfect pics we often see online. She is also a body positivity advocate and wants people to embrace their bodies as they are.
She exposes the reality behind the perfect pics.
We often see perfect pictures on Instagram. Sometimes, we even feel a little insecure when it comes to our bodies. However, the reality is far from what we see online.
Bree Lenehan frequently posts side-by-side pics on Instagram, showing the differences between “perfect” and reality. She also shares encouraging quotes and fitness advice for her followers on Instagram.
The Australian influencer is an advocate for body positivity. She tries to show people that the perfect pics they see on social media are mostly staged.
She wants people to know that nobody is perfect. “I want to be a safe corner of the internet that shows up authentically and use this platform to encourage you to be kinder to yourself.” wrote Bree.
She embraces her natural body.
Many people think that what they see on social media is real. Those perfect skins, tight bums, and tiny waists. Well… Do not feel bad about your body. None of that is true.
Bree shows off her stretch marks, pimples, and loose skin for people to see that everyone has flaws. That is normal. “The way you feel is so much more important than the way you look,” said Bree in her post. Some people, like Bree, enjoy exposing their natural bodies without a single touch of editing.
“We’re promised we’ll be happier and more confident if we lose weight, have perfect skin, and sacrifice special memories for a specific body. What they never tell you is how you’ll still feel unhappy in your skin either way because your self-esteem has less to do with your body and more to do with the negative way you speak to yourself and the unrealistic expectations,” wrote Bree.
She wants to inspire people to be confident and embrace the bodies they are given. On the other hand, she disproves some misconceptions.
For example, when trying on a dress in the dressing room, you might feel it doesn’t suit you. Bree says that different lights can change the perspective of your body.
“I was never told that 80%-90% of women and (10% of men) have cellulite. That having cellulite, stretch marks, hip dips, belly fat, etc. is almost as normal as having knees and fingers! We’re shown posed, filtered, perfected, edited, and carefully curated images online…But we’re not always shown every day, no makeup, living in slacks, oily hair, unedited, unposed reality,” said Bree.
Self-love is her priority.
Her followers find her page a happy place. Bree has proved her mission is a success because many people follow and agree with her. She says that idolizing other people’s bodies is unhealthy.
The Australian influencer motivates you to love and accept your body every day!
Loving yourself includes all shapes, sizes, skin colors, and more. Accepting and loving your body is the primary thing you should do daily!
Bree loves herself and has made it a mission to motivate and influence everybody to do the same. She said: “The more we see normal women with normal bodies, the more realistic our expectations will be, and then hopefully more of us will accept ourselves too.”
