Reality star Casey King proved with his weight loss journey that you can overcome the struggles of losing weight. Despite weighing 845 pounds at his heaviest, he lost two-thirds of his body weight through sheer determination and hard work.
Making his debut on TLC’s reality series “Family by the Ton,” Casey King revealed that he was always a “big kid” and by high school graduation, he weighed 300 pounds. Despite the need to take charge of his eating habits, he kept working in restaurants and consuming unhealthy fast food.
The reality star encountered challenges in performing daily tasks such as bathing due to his substantial weight gain.
He could not fit in a standard shower or bathtub, so he opted for an outdoor trough on his father’s deck to clean himself.
He claimed: “Because I’m a bigger guy with like, folds and flaps, I have to move around, almost like a pig in a way, and wallow and roll over to get the back of my leg. I have to lift up literal pieces of skin. It’s just a super difficult process.”
Following a shift in mindset, his life began to head towards a better path.
After adopting a strict diet and workout regimen, King underwent stomach surgery to reduce his food intake. Despite initial challenges, he remained committed to his healthy lifestyle and dropped from 711 to 525 pounds.
After a long period of unemployment, Casey King landed a job at Home Depot, where he has been working for several years. His employment has been advantageous in keeping him active.
He wrote in a post: “I’m the healthiest I’ve been since #highschool, I’m the happiest I’ve been since #forever, and I don’t know if I’ve ever felt more or #loved myself more. 5 pounds away from a weight I never really considered imaginable, I never saw even possible.”
At present, King weighs 250 pounds and aims to lose another 25. Additionally, he intends to undergo surgery to eliminate the excess skin on his chest, arms, and stomach.
