Litzy Lara Banulos, known professionally as Emily Willis, a 25-year-old adult film actress, had been undergoing treatment at a renowned rehab center for eight days before experiencing cardiac arrest on Feb. 5, according to her stepfather, Michael Willis, as reported by TMZ.

Willis, who boasts over 2 million followers on Instagram, was swiftly taken to a hospital in Thousand Oaks, California, where she remains in a coma and on a ventilator.
“Emily remains in a vegetative coma and is fighting for her life,” stated her brother, also named Michael, in an update to an online fundraiser. “We have been by her side as she slowly tries to recover, but it will be a challenging journey ahead.”

Previously, police sources had informed TMZ that Willis had suffered an apparent overdose, but Michael clarified that doctors informed the family her initial toxicology screen returned negative.
“Regarding the reports of an overdose, we want to clarify that they are not accurate as far as the doctors and my family know. Emily was receiving the treatment and help she needed at the time of the incident to overcome her struggles,” Michael explained in the update.
