Recently, a rescue team discovered a severely matted stray dog with such matted fur she resembled a wig before her amazing transformation. Mac’s Mission, a Missouri-based charity dedicated to helping special needs dogs, rescued the dog, later named Pear, who was found in dire condition with thick, tangled fur.
According to the rescue team, the stay dog initially “didn’t even look like a dog.”
Her appearance was more akin to a wig, just a mass of hair. After rescuing her, volunteers began the meticulous task of grooming Pear, providing her with a “spa session” to remove all the tangled fur.
Rochelle Steffent, the founder of the rescue, told Newsweek, “We cleaned her up, shaved off her fur, and gave her a bath to wash away the dirt and fleas.” The stay dog quickly fell asleep once she settled into one of our cozy spots.
Throughout the lengthy cleanup process, Pear remained gentle and patient, even though removing her matted fur was a time-consuming task.
Steffent also noted Pear’s fortunate escape from potential car accidents and, although her fur was free from maggots, she may have lost an eye in a previous incident.

On Facebook, the rescue team expressed gratitude to their supporters, saying, “Thanks to you all, Pear has a new life ahead of her.”
