During a biking trip, 58-year-old Paul Skinner and his friends came across a disturbing sight while passing through a secluded area. They noticed movement in a ditch and discovered a frightened dog clutching a sack in her mouth.
Disturbed by their discovery, the group promptly contacted the police. Animal shelter workers also arrived and took the dog, whom they named Carly. Investigations revealed that Carly had been left in the ditch shortly after giving birth. She remained by her puppies, unable to open the tied plastic bag they were in. There are hopes that Carly’s owner will be apprehended and held accountable for this cruel act of abandonment.
Carly, a cocker spaniel, displayed remarkable courage by staying with her puppies despite the heat, lack of food, and water. Unfortunately, incidents of animal abuse and neglect are increasing, highlighting the need for stricter laws and harsher penalties for offenders.
The community hopes Carly will find a loving home and receive the care she deserves.
