A repeat offender with a disturbing history has been arrested once again after allegedly engaging in inappropriate behavior at a Nordstrom Rack in California.
Calese Carron Crowder, 36, was taken into custody on Tuesday after security cameras reportedly captured him crouching behind a woman and sniffing her backside in the women’s section of the Burbank Empire Center store, according to the Burbank Police Department.
Authorities said Crowder, a registered sex offender, had been following the unsuspecting shopper around the store before committing the unsettling act — a behavior for which he has previously been arrested multiple times.
Crowder was eventually apprehended at a nearby Walmart. He is currently on active parole for a string of lewd offenses dating back to 2021. Police initially responded to the scene after receiving reports of a suspicious individual loitering in the women’s clothing area.
Crowder first made national headlines in August 2023 when a TikTok video went viral showing him sneaking up behind women and sniffing them at a Burbank Barnes & Noble. Later that same month, he was also arrested for allegedly peeping into a family’s home in Glendale — but was subsequently released.
His criminal record includes prior arrests for indecent exposure, burglary, and robbery. Crowder now faces charges of intent to commit a crime and is being held on $100,000 bail.
He is scheduled to appear in court on August 1.
