Arnold Schwarzenegger is reportedly weighing the possibility of a U.S. presidential run, even as constitutional restrictions stand in his way. According to RadarOnline.com, those close to him say the move reflects his urgency to block Donald Trump’s return to power and, as he puts it, “restore democracy.”
The 78-year-old former California governor and Hollywood icon has grown increasingly outspoken about the dangers facing the nation, particularly in the wake of the recent assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, 31, in Utah.
Friends of Schwarzenegger suggest the tragedy has only deepened his resolve to address the rise of political violence and the widening rift across the country. He has publicly blamed both major parties, the media, and Trump for fueling those divisions.
During an appearance at the University of Southern California, Schwarzenegger issued a stark warning: “We have to be very careful that we don’t get closer to the cliff. Because when you fall down that cliff, down there, there is no democracy. We have to be very, very careful. I think it’s very important that we turn this around and that we show people power. Because the people can turn this around, the people have the ultimate power.”
