She said for British Vogue, “Dogs, big dogs… like if I’m around big dogs, I’m chill. But it’s really hard, you know? I’ve had a rough time, TBH, and I’m still figuring it out. But it’s definitely a weird life; I’ll say that.”

In 2019, Billie Eilish expressed her strong connection to Rihanna’s fashion influence, citing it as her defense mechanism.

She confessed that hearing Rihanna say those words resonated with her like nothing else. She said: “It’s always been that way for me. It’s always been my security blanket. It’s my way of expression without having to use words. Fashion is its language and I use mine all day, every day. I always have.”

In that same year, the Oscar winner came to the defense of the nine-time Grammy winner, countering fan criticism about her focus on her makeup line rather than releasing new music.

“I think Rihanna is f**king murdering it. Everyone who is like, ‘Stop with the [Fenty] brand and put out more music,’ I think, ‘Shut the f**k up.’ She is doing exactly what she needs to do, and that’s fire. Yeah, we want new Rihanna music, but we also want Rihanna. Only props to her.” Eilish told Billboard.

During an interview with Extra, the Bad Guy singer admitted feeling apprehensive about meeting the pregnant superstar, expressing her usual reluctance to meet idols while acknowledging that she would be incredibly honored to do so.

In a recent interview, she candidly discussed her discomfort with reading hurtful online comments about herself, shedding light on her struggles.

She expressed: “Dude, I don’t even know. It’s tough, man. Honestly, nobody can say anything about my body that I don’t have a stronger opinion about. I also think that if I was younger, like if the internet talked about me the way they do now when I was like 11, I don’t think I would be able to exist, to be honest. I like myself more than I used to, and I’m more interested in how I feel than how they feel. But then also that might be a load of bulls**t because it still hurts my feelings like a son of a b***h.”

To reclaim power from online trolls, Billie has purged social media apps from her phone, a crucial step in asserting control.

“I don’t look at it anymore,” she said on an episode of the Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend podcast. “I deleted it all off my phone, which is such a huge deal for me. Cause dude, you didn’t have the internet to grow up with. For me, it was such a big part of – not my childhood, I wasn’t an iPad baby, thank god – but honestly, I feel like I grew up in the perfect time of the internet that it wasn’t so internet-y, I had such a childhood, and I was doing stuff all the time.”

She has ventured into diverse fashion choices, embracing dresses and figure-hugging ensembles.

Despite facing criticism for her decision, Eilish fired back at trolls in May with a defiant Stories post, writing, “I spent the first 5 years of my career getting absolutely obliterated by you fools for being boy-ish and dressing how I did & constantly being told I’d be hotter if I acted like a woman. And now when I feel comfortable enough to wear anything remotely feminine or fitting, I changed and am a sellout. I can be both.”

In an interview with Vanity Fair, she revealed that her choice to wear baggy clothing was influenced by her body image.
