Carol Vorderman Embraces Non-Monogamy with Multiple Partners

TV personality Carol Vorderman has announced she is no longer monogamous, choosing to explore relationships with multiple partners.

Carol Vorderman no longer believes in “The One.” Instead, she prefers having multiple partners. The former Countdown star has been married twice before. First to Christopher Mather in 1985 and then to Patrick King in 1990 until they divorced in 2020.

The former host of Countdown on Channel 5, aged 61, clarified her stance on not wanting to remarry.

“You know, I don’t want to marry again. I don’t want to live with a man again. Have to look after him all the time. But this a time to break this nonsense taboo, which is a person should only be looking for one other person that satisfies everything in their life. That’s hell,” Carol said on ITV’s This Morning.

Carol added: “I live my life in chapters, and you said and this chapter since I was about 50. So far the last decade or so, I’ve lived a life which is much freer.”

She said: “I’ve never felt freer. So I have ignored the looking for one person, and I have a number of what I’ve called special friends.”

Carol, who has two children with her ex-husband Patrick, said that societal norms dictated women should marry young, but she is now questioning the idea of one lifelong partner.

She continued: “My view is not quite like that. Half of first marriages end in divorce, and nearly three-quarters of second marriages end in divorce. So I prefer to live my life in chapters.”

During an appearance on the ITV show with Gyles Brandreth, she revealed details about her current partners and their relationship: “They don’t know each other, but they know about it. It’s a very honest relationship. One of them has gone on for many years than my marriage. Yeah, it’s over 10 years. Another is 7. He’s an astronaut. He rang me from the space station.”

According to Carol, her partners desire companionship and friendship without expectations of love, but it may develop naturally over time.

She said: “The age is really immaterial, but my experience suggests that somebody roughly in your age bracket. You have more in common.”

The TV presenter wrapped up her interview with guidance for individuals pondering over their romantic life. She said: “Go with someone who makes your heart sing, babes. Even if it’s only for an occasional weekend. You do you!”
