A video recorded in Minneapolis, Minnesota on January 13, 2026, shows federal immigration agents dragging a U.S. citizen, Aliya Rahman, from her car during a federal immigration enforcement operation.

Rahman stated she was disabled and on her way to a doctor appointment when agents confronted her vehicle. After breaking a window and cutting her seatbelt, officers removed her from the car and detained her.

Rahman alleges that she was denied medical care while in detention and lost consciousness before being hospitalized. Federal authorities said she was among individuals obstructing officers’ actions.

The incident comes amid heightened tensions in Minneapolis related to immigration enforcement, including protests following a separate fatal shooting by an ICE agent. Former President Trump threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act to deploy military forces in Minnesota due to escalating clashes between federal agents and protesters.

Critics say the aggressive enforcement tactics have sparked civil liberties concerns.

Multiple news outlets identify the woman as Aliya Rahman, a U.S.-born technology professional and activist. She publicly asserted that she was trying to get medical care when detained and has described herself as disabled.

The administration did not press charges in her case, though it maintained she was obstructing federal operations.
