Speaking from the White House lawn ahead of his departure for the NATO summit in The Hague, Trump directed criticism at both nations, declaring he was “not happy” with either—adding pointedly that he is “really unhappy” with Israel.
“Do not drop those bombs,” Trump urged Israel, addressing reporters before boarding Air Force One. “They’ve been fighting for so long and so hard, they don’t know what the f*** they’re doing,” he continued.
Trump also claimed that Iran’s nuclear capabilities were now “gone,” referencing U.S. military strikes on three Iranian sites believed to contain nuclear material. However, reports suggest that any remaining nuclear substances had already been cleared prior to the attacks, which involved the use of ‘bunker buster’ bombs.
Meanwhile, air raid sirens blared across northern Israel following the detection of incoming missiles. Iran has yet to officially acknowledge the attack.
From The Hague, U.K. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer commented on the unfolding crisis during an emergency NATO summit, revealing he had spoken with the Emir of Qatar in response to Iran’s missile offensive.
“I want the ceasefire to continue,” Starmer stated. “The sooner we get back to that, the better. And that’s the message that I’m discussing with other leaders today. We need to get back to that ceasefire, which is consistent with what I’ve been saying about deescalation for quite some time now.”
