Ahead of her upcoming film’s debut, Jennifer Lawrence is speaking candidly about filming intimate scenes, motherhood, and how pregnancy reshaped her perspective — both professionally and personally.
The 35-year-old Oscar winner, best known for her role as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, stars in Die My Love as Grace, a young mother struggling after childbirth. Seeking peace and healing, Grace and her partner Jackson — played by Robert Pattinson — leave New York City for his quiet rural hometown. The film, directed by Lynne Ramsay and produced by Martin Scorsese, explores mental health and identity through Grace’s emotional unraveling.
The project, adapted from the 2012 novel of the same name, features a nude dance scene between Lawrence and Pattinson that has already become a talking point online.
During a recent press junket, Lawrence reflected on filming that scene, explaining how her attitude toward nudity has evolved over time.

“I don’t care about nudity,” the actress said in a now-viral TikTok shared by Vulture. “I’m not sensitive about it.”
“I wanted Lynne to have total freedom artistically.”
Lawrence added that motherhood transformed her relationship with her body and stripped away much of her old insecurities.
“I think being pregnant took a lot of, like, vanity anxiety away. Before No Hard Feelings, I was dieting and not eating carbs and working out.”
She noted that Die My Love felt very different from her 2023 comedy No Hard Feelings, particularly because she was pregnant with her second child during filming.
“What was I gonna do? Like, not eat? I was working 15 hours a day. I was just tired.”
“I remember them sending over a close-up of, like, cellulite being like, ‘Do you want us to touch this up?’ And I was like, ‘No. That’s an ass’.”
Fans quickly praised her refreshing honesty online. One X user wrote:
“Watching everyone on the TL remember how incredible Jennifer Lawrence is.”
Another added:
“She is always a breath of fresh air.”
While a third simply declared:
“Queen Behavior.”
On the red carpet, Lawrence told PEOPLE that her real-life experience as a mother helped her bring authenticity to her character.
“I didn’t really end up having really bad postpartum [anxiety] until my second [baby],” she revealed on November 1.
The actress, who shares two children — including three-year-old Cy — with husband Cooke Maroney, said her postpartum mental health struggles helped her connect more deeply to Grace’s emotional journey.
“I mean, I don’t think that you have to have kids to play a parent by any means, but having that information about, you know, what a tiny person needs, and is looking for.”
“Just having that information was helpful.”
In a separate interview with The New Yorker, Lawrence also admitted she has considered plastic surgery following her second pregnancy.
“Everything bounced back, pretty much, after the first one. Second one, nothing bounced back,” she said when asked about possibly undergoing a breast procedure.
The actress added that if future roles include more nude scenes, she might move forward with the procedure sooner — but emphasized that it would ultimately be her own decision.
She made it clear that any changes she makes will be about feeling comfortable in her body, not meeting Hollywood’s expectations.
Die My Love is set to hit theaters on Friday, November 7.
