Toronto, Canada – A new ride-hailing service aimed at providing safe transportation for the Jewish community has launched in the Greater Toronto Area.
Jew Ride, founded in March 2025 by Israeli immigrant Vadim Danilov, was inspired by stories of Jewish Uber passengers who felt compelled to hide Stars of David or avoid speaking Hebrew to prevent antisemitic reactions from drivers.
The Toronto-based platform primarily serves Jewish clients—currently making up 95% of its user base—and offers 24/7 rides with Jewish drivers. The service comes as reports of ride refusals, cancellations, and passenger ejections linked to antisemitism have been on the rise.
Former Toronto resident Leigh Elzas praised Jew Ride as a “necessary safe alternative” to mainstream ride-hailing options, noting that growing antisemitism has prompted some members of the community to leave Canada.
As 2025 comes to a close, initiatives like Jew Ride highlight ongoing efforts to create safer spaces for marginalized communities.
