She shared the news on a heartfelt black-and-white video.
The 30-yar-old revealed the moment her partner, James Bridgewood, proposed to her on Christmas Day. Their young daughter, Angelina, was also present during the special moment.
Captioning the video, Sophia wrote: “Yes a million times over [heart emoji] 25.12.24.”
Sophia and James have been together since 2021. Then they welcomed their daughter, Angelina, last year. The engagement news delighted Sophia’s followers. They flooded the comments with congratulatory messages.
One follower wrote, “The best little family,” while another commented, “Awww congratulations!” Lottie Tomlinson, sister of Liam’s former bandmate Louis Tomlinson, also shared her support, writing: “Congratulations” alongside heart emojis.
Sophia and Liam dated from 2013 to 2015 and had known each other since their school days. Reflecting on their relationship in a 2015 interview with Attitude magazine, Liam shared how he first asked Sophia out:
“I didn’t actually go out with her at school. But I used to see her and we’d chat a bit. Also, I asked her sister for her number because she was very shy.
In the same interview, he discussed the possibility of marriage, saying: “We’ve talked about marriage, but 22 seems a bit young for us. Sophia needs to go off and do what she wants to do. I don’t want her to be one of those stay-at-home girlfriends who doesn’t really do much.”
Bear’s first Christmas without Liam
While Sophia celebrated her engagement, it was an emotional holiday for Liam’s family. Liam, who passed away earlier this year, traditionally spent Christmas with his ex, Cheryl, and their son, Bear.
In previous years, Liam and Bear would open presents together before heading outside to play with dinosaurs. Following Liam’s death, Cheryl is reportedly focused on keeping his memory alive for their son.
A source told MailOnline: “It has been a really sad time for Bear and Cheryl. Cheryl has said she’s trying to help her son cope with losing his daddy, and there will be many milestones to navigate—starting with Christmas. Wherever Liam was in the world, he always made it home for Christmas with Bear.”
It’s believed that Cheryl and Bear spent part of Christmas Day with Liam’s family to honor his memory and ensure his presence remained a part of their celebration.
