The Challenges of Traveling as an American
In an interview, Drew shed light on a significant hurdle. Faced by many American travelers: obtaining visas for countries with political tensions.
Recalling his most challenging experience entering Venezuela.
Drew said, “I ended up getting the visa from the Venezuelan embassy. They were difficult because of the sanctions and political tensions between the US and Venezuela. But I was able to get one last minute.”
Such obstacles, however, didn’t deter him from pursuing his passion for exploring the world.
Embracing Indigenous Cultures
Despite the challenges, Drew’s adventures have also been filled with deeply enriching moments, particularly through his interactions with indigenous tribes.
“I really like visiting indigenous tribes because it shows a different side of the world that is not so consumed in technology and electronics,” Drew explained.
These encounters have been humbling for him, offering a glimpse into ways of life untouched by modern technology. Drew plans to continue exploring indigenous cultures in Africa, South America, and India, saying, “It’s humbling to meet people and see how they’re living in faraway places.”
Connecting With the World
Drew’s ability to adapt to diverse cultures has been one of his greatest strengths.
“I never had any issues getting to know other people and making them comfortable on camera,” he shared.
His skill in building connections has allowed him to document and share powerful stories from people worldwide, bringing their lives into the global spotlight.
His Favorite Destination
When it comes to naming his favorite country, Drew doesn’t hesitate: the Philippines.
He describes it as “the most beautiful country in the world, super safe, and full of nice people. It’s like everything you could want in one country.”
Though his heart is set on the Philippines, Drew and his wife are planning a move to Dubai, drawn by its dynamic culture and opportunities.
