I still remember the day we welcomed our first child into the world—just four months ago. How could anyone forget such a life-changing moment? We were overwhelmed with joy, yet also filled with the kind of anxiety that only new parents understand. Nothing prepares you for the realization that your child is entirely dependent on you—for everything. Suddenly, your own needs fall to the bottom of the list. Parenting becomes your ultimate priority. There truly is no feeling in the world that compares to becoming a parent.
But the story you’re about to hear is something entirely different.
When Becki Allen received the news from her doctors, she was completely stunned. According to statistics, her case is one in 200 million—an astonishing rarity.
A few years prior, Becki had given birth to a beautiful daughter, and she was thrilled to tell her that she would soon become a big sister.
The family, from Liverpool, England, had always dreamed of having more children and growing their family. But nothing could have prepared them for what the ultrasound revealed. They weren’t just expecting one baby… or even two. They were expecting triplets—and not just any triplets, but identical ones.
During her pregnancy, Becki began suffering from intense headaches. Concerned, her doctors performed an ultrasound to ensure everything was alright.
“It was the biggest shock of my life,” Becki told the Liverpool Echo. “We haven’t got any triplets in the family, so it came completely out of the blue.”
Initially, the couple had only picked out a name for a single baby. But once the surprise triplets were confirmed, they lovingly chose three unique names: Roman, Rocco, and Rohan—the Triple R squad.
The boys were delivered by C-section at just 31 weeks. Each baby weighed between 3 and 5 pounds and required a few weeks in neonatal intensive care.
It’s common for triplets to face complications after birth—and in many cases, the outcomes can be severe, even fatal.
Thankfully, that wasn’t the case here. These three little warriors proved to be strong and healthy, steadily gaining weight and growing stronger day by day. After spending about a month in the NICU, they were finally well enough to go home.
Although doctors initially believed the boys weren’t completely identical, photos seemed to suggest otherwise. And after conducting DNA tests, it was confirmed: the triplets were genetically identical—a phenomenon so rare that it’s nearly unheard of.
To the average onlooker, telling them apart is nearly impossible. But Becki has learned to spot the differences.
“They only look the same to me when they’re asleep,” she shared. “But they all have very different personalities. They each have a dark birthmark between their eyebrows—Roman’s is just a bit darker than the others—and Rohan has another one on his leg.”
Caring for triplets is no small financial feat either. Becki estimates she spends about $100 a week on diapers alone—going through nearly 150 of them in that time. She also uses five packs of wipes weekly.
Raising three babies at once is a full-time commitment, but Becki and her family are embracing the challenge with love and patience.
Big sister Indiana is overjoyed to have three baby brothers and plays a proud role in helping take care of them.
“Indiana loves them,” Becki said. “She’s not jealous at all. Though, I do feel a little sorry for her when I think about how it’ll be growing up with three little brothers!”
Who wouldn’t fall in love with these adorable boys?
As for me—I’m beyond grateful for my one child. I can’t even imagine having two more all at once!
This family is not only full of love, but also truly blessed… and yes, in every way, rich.
