Nadya Suleman, aka Octomom, is an extraordinary woman who gave birth to 14 children! Her story is beautiful. Raising a kid is challenging, let alone more of them!
In 2009, Nadya Suleman broke a record.
Nadya, aka Natalie Denise Suleman, is well-known in the media. She gave birth to octuplets in 2009 and broke the record with the first surviving octuplets. She is known as Octomom, and the phenomenon is now called “Suleman Octuplets.”
Before her octuplets, Nadya already had six children. She conceived all her children via in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Nadya wanted more kids!
The Octomom started her IVF treatments in 1997 when she was only 21. Dr. Michael Kamrava supervised her whole process.
She gave birth to her first son. Elijah, in 2001. One year later, she gave birth to her first daughter, Ameerah. Later on, Nadya had three other pregnancies, where she welcomed two more sons, Joshua and Aidan, and a set of fraternal twins, Calyssa and Caleb.
However, she did not stop there. She wanted more kids in her life!

Being left with six embryos from her previous IVF treatments, Nadya wanted all of them at one time into her uterus. It was a challenging decision.
She became an international media sensation, not only because of her decision but because she gave birth to the first surviving octuplets. Public opinion was mainly negative. However, Nadya wanted to support her children independently. Moreover, she wanted to complete her master’s degree in counseling.
She said: “I don’t get much sleep, but I’m used to that. Once one of the kids gets up, they all get up. Some nights I don’t sleep at all or as little as half an hour. On good nights, I may get up to 2 full hours. The longest I’ve gone without sleeping is 72 hours. It’s hard, but I’m continuing to move forward with my life and trying to be the best mother I can be.”
The big family is happy!
The Octomom is living happily with her 14 children. She even scored a deal to be part of a reality TV show in the UK. Nadya often shares her life on Instagram.
She never stops praising her kids: “You are all becoming some of the kindest, most selfless, caring human beings I have ever known.”
In July 2022, Nadya had her 47th birthday. She celebrated her special day with all her children. They surprised her with a homemade marble cake, lasagna, and donut balls.
“This is all that matters to me, family and the love we have for one another,” said Nadya.
What do you think of this extraordinary woman? Would you love to have many kids as well? Tell us in the comments.
I am happy she wanted children but she used fertility drugs to get her 8 at once and the taxpayers paid for most of their bills. Some where there should have been some thought about how many children you can financially support. Not societies responsibility to raise her children.
