The couple announced the arrival of their baby girl via Instagram on Thursday, December 26, sharing a series of photos to celebrate the occasion.
In the first image, the proud parents can be seen cradling their newborn daughter, born on Christmas Day. Another photo featured a close-up of the baby’s tiny hand held by both mom and dad. The couple chose to obscure their daughter’s face with an emoji and have yet to reveal her name.
“Our Christmas miracle has finally arrived????,” they captioned the joint post. “Merry Christmas from our family to yours.”
Vas, known for her role as Mishti Sharma on the Australian soap Neighbours from 2017 to 2018, first announced her pregnancy in September. Since then, she had been documenting her journey to motherhood on social media.
The pair originally met as teenagers in Australia through mutual friends. They tied the knot in September 2023 during a ceremony in Mykonos, Greece. Later, two of their parents married, making Vas and Ricci step-siblings. While it remains unclear which parents tied the knot, Vas previously shared on TikTok that she and Ricci share a mother.
Despite criticism of their unconventional relationship, Vas revealed in an interview with news.com.au in September that they don’t let the negativity affect them.
“Honestly, it doesn’t affect us because we have each other,” she said. “I don’t really read our comments section, but if I do, I actually laugh. We find trolls very entertaining.”
Vas further explained that they are not biologically related.
“We were about 13 years old when we first met through mutual friends. Our families knew each other, and they introduced us,” she said. “So we’ve known each other for a very long time.”
The couple often responds to negative comments with humor, with Vas noting that it’s an effective way to disarm critics.
