Paris Hilton shocked the public by revealing she had an abortion when she was 22 years old after becoming pregnant with her ex-fiance, Jason Shaw. The 42-year-old socialite opened up about her decision, explaining that she was not ready for motherhood and struggled with her mental health while attending boarding schools.
In her memoir “Paris: The Memoir“, the mom writes about her life story, including her encounter with a Tommy Hilfiger model outside LA’s Four Seasons in 2001.
“I was terrified and heartsick. The hormones sent my ADHD symptoms spiraling. Everything I knew about myself was at war with everything I’d been raised to believe about abortion,” wrote Paris.
“I knew I wasn’t in the right place to make any sort of commitment. It had nothing to do with him or a baby. I just wasn’t capable of being honest or loyal or whole.”
“After suffering abuse at Provo Canyon School and three other programs within the “troubled teen” industry network, I was damaged in ways I couldn’t tell him about, and the fact that I never confided in him about my past—that says it all, doesn’t it? Secrets are corrosive. They destroy anything you try to layer over them,” she added.

Occasionally, she looks back and experiences guilt over her actions, feeling as though she had “killed my Paris.”
However, coming to terms with it, Paris Hilton underwent a challenging IVF process with her husband, Carter Reum.

“Month after month of injections, several egg-harvesting procedures, more IVF injections, new ADHD meds, my natural state of chaos—it was a lot,” shared Paris.
In January, Paris Hilton and Carter Reum became parents to Phoenix through surrogacy.

She revealed information about the abuse she endured in the “therapeutic” boarding schools her parents had sent her to in an attempt to control her rebellious behavior.
