Corey Harrison, known for his role on the hit reality series Pawn Stars, is appealing to fans for financial help after facing overwhelming medical expenses following a serious motorcycle accident in Mexico.

According to TMZ, the 42-year-old suffered severe injuries in January, including 11 broken ribs, a concussion, and facial wounds after the crash. The situation became even more dangerous when life-threatening complications developed. During the ordeal, Corey also missed the wedding of his father, Rick Harrison.

Speaking to TMZ, Corey explained that after spending two weeks in the hospital he decided to check himself out earlier than recommended because the medical bills were quickly becoming too expensive.

That decision later created additional problems. While recovering at his home in Tulum, Corey began experiencing intense pain. A doctor was called to the house and administered IV fluids along with morphine to manage his condition.

The situation turned frightening when his oxygen levels suddenly dropped, leaving him worried he might not survive. TMZ reports that he couldn’t afford to return to the original hospital where he had first been treated, so friends helped transport him to a more affordable medical facility.

At that hospital, Corey underwent three surgeries and remained admitted for another 18 days while doctors monitored his recovery.

In total, the television personality says his medical expenses have reached nearly $120,000. He told TMZ that his bank account currently holds only $400, after borrowing money from both friends and his father to help cover the bills.

In hopes of easing the financial burden, Corey has now launched a GoFundMe campaign, asking supporters for assistance.

“What am I going to do, fly out to Vegas and sell stuff? I can’t move from my recliner,” he explained.

TMZ reports that although he still receives some residual payments from reruns of Pawn Stars, he is no longer actively involved with the show.

Meanwhile, his father Rick—who various reports say is worth several million dollars—responded to TMZ with a brief comment about the situation: “Corey is a grown man and he will deal with his life as he sees fit.”
