Sydney Sweeney, best known for her role in Euphoria, remains unfazed by on-screen nudity, despite her co-star Glen Powell feeling uncomfortable during filming. Confident in her body, Sweeney finds empowerment through embracing her physicality, stating that she’s not apologetic about these roles.
In 2022, she expressed frustration with being labeled a “sex symbol” due to her nude scenes, reminding people that she was playing a character. Despite public assumptions, she remains committed to her craft, emphasizing that there’s more depth to her performances than just nudity.
Sweeney wishes there were more open discussions about the perceptions surrounding actors in the industry. She explained how being comfortable with her body makes her feel sexy and strong, and she doesn’t see anything wrong with it. Defending Euphoria’s director, Sam Levinson, she praised the strong, independent women working on the show, highlighting that none of them felt pressured into anything.
Amid public criticism, Sweeney shared how difficult it is to see Levinson unfairly attacked when the cast, who are present on set, support him. She stressed that the explicit scenes are not gratuitous but represent reality.
Sweeney humorously recalled an incident when her father watched Euphoria without any warning, which led to some awkward conversations within her family.

Her Anyone But You co-star, Glen Powell, admitted to E! News that filming an intimate shower scene with Sweeney was uncomfortable, especially with the crew offering suggestions. He confessed to feeling odd afterward, acknowledging the awkwardness of shooting such scenes.
Sweeney acknowledged that it’s usually the presence of the crew, rather than the intimacy between actors, that makes filming such scenes awkward. She feels more comfortable with friends in these situations than with strangers on set.
