A new agreement between Europe and India aims to regulate the movement of people between the two regions, targeting what officials describe as “demographic and professional needs” of European countries. The deal covers Indian students and workers and has prompted even non-EU countries, such as Albania, to lift visa requirements for Indian citizens.
Sources indicate that the agreement could reshape migration flows into Europe, with significant implications for regional mobility.
Meanwhile, Pakistani migrants are reportedly rushing to the Spanish consulate in Barcelona to complete bureaucratic procedures, as the Spanish government plans to regularize approximately 500,000 undocumented migrants.
Notably, these individuals are almost exclusively men of working age, with no women or children involved. Once regularized, they will be able to move freely across Europe.
The agreement has already sparked debate over the social and economic impact of migration and Europe’s broader immigration policies.
