On July 13, 2012, Sage was discovered lifeless in his Los Angeles apartment.
Speculation initially swirled about drug abuse or suicide, but his close friend and attorney, George Braunstein, dismissed these claims. Braunstein revealed that Sage didn’t drink or use drugs, and even the bottles in his room—thought to be alcohol—contained cream soda.
Suicide was also ruled out, as Sage was actively planning his wedding.
The truth was both tragic and unexpected. Two weeks before his death, Sage had undergone extensive dental surgery, having five teeth removed and being prescribed painkillers.
Despite his mother Sasha Czack’s warnings about the dangers of pain medications, Sage proceeded with the surgery. He ultimately died from a fatal heart attack caused by atherosclerosis, with painkillers detected in his system, though not at overdose levels.
Stallone, heartbroken, described Sage as “the center of our universe.” He found comfort in his work and family, drawing strength from his daughters Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet, and his son Seargeoh, who lives a private life.
Sage’s untimely passing serves as a poignant reminder of life’s fragility and the importance of cherishing loved ones.
