Angus Neill, Not Cillian Murphy
If you were able to focus beyond the trailer’s eerie soundtrack, you may have spotted a decayed zombie rising from the grass behind Jodie Comer’s character in 28 Years Later. Despite the initial speculation, it’s not Cillian Murphy’s Jim.
The brief cameo actually features newcomer Angus Neill, who was handpicked by 28 Days Later director Danny Boyle after a meeting.
“Danny told me he’d always had me in mind for the role. So we met up, hit it off, and I agreed to take part,” Angus told The Guardian. “On set, he has an extraordinary ability to hypnotise you, and working with him on the film was a very, very intense experience.”
Who Is Angus Neill?
Not much is known about Angus Neill beyond his appearance in 28 Years Later. He is represented by Ugly Models and has previously worked on projects such as fashion campaigns and a music video for Katie Gregson-MacLeod. According to his Instagram, Angus is also an art dealer with a passion for crafts and historical art, particularly masters like Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Rembrandt.

As for Cillian Murphy, it remains unclear whether he will appear in 28 Years Later. Beyond a producer credit, his involvement in the film hasn’t been confirmed. However, fans can still hold out hope, as Murphy has expressed interest in joining the project.
“I didn’t know that – I would be there in a flash. I made two movies with both of those guys, and I would love to work with them again. Of course, I’m there,” he told The Independent.
