A NASA supercomputer simulation illustrates the journey toward a supermassive black hole, showcasing features produced by general relativity.

The simulation tracks a camera as it approaches, orbits, and crosses the event horizon of a black hole, similar to the one at the center of the Milky Way.

Astrophysicists Jeremy Schnittman and Brian Powell created these visualizations, revealing Einstein’s theories in action. The visualizations are available in various formats, including 360-degree videos.
