Within the song, Swift paints a vivid picture of her hometown, describing a “bronze spray-tanned statue” of “Aimee,” with a plaque beneath it threatening to push her down the stairs at their school.
The lyrics delve deeper into the emotional turmoil inflicted by this person, with lines such as “All that time you were throwin’ punches, I was buildin’ somethin’,” and “Screamed ‘F – – k you, Aimee’ to the night sky, as the blood was gushin’.”
