Authorities say Mangione fled New York following the incident, triggering a nationwide manhunt that ended days later when he was apprehended in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Police reportedly recovered the alleged murder weapon and a handwritten manifesto in which Mangione expressed anger toward the healthcare industry.
During a court appearance Tuesday at the Blair County Courthouse in Pennsylvania, Mangione’s lawyer, Thomas Dickey, announced plans to fight his extradition to New York. Bail was denied, and Mangione created a scene by shouting at photographers, prompting police to escort him inside the courthouse.
As for Kim Kardashian, it remains to be seen whether she will involve herself in this case—but don’t count on it just yet.
