Amber Heard appears to be starting anew following her legal battles with ex-husband Johnny Depp. The couple married in 2015, but the Aquaman actress filed for divorce just a year later.

Although they issued a joint statement during their 2016 divorce settlement, the situation deteriorated after Heard’s op-ed in The Washington Post.
In the 2018 article, Heard discussed her experiences with sexual abuse and violence, and while she did not name Depp, he sued her for defamation. In response, Heard countersued for $100 million, accusing him of orchestrating a ‘smear campaign’ against her.
Their explosive court case captured global attention, with a jury ultimately ruling in favor of Depp. However, they also sided with Heard on her counterclaim, finding that one of Depp’s lawyers had defamed her.
By the end of 2022, all court filings were reportedly settled, and Heard chose to relocate to Spain with her young daughter, Oonagh Paige. She welcomed her child via surrogate in April 2021, but has not disclosed the identity of the father.
In her effort to start a new life in Spain, Heard reportedly adopted a new name. Last year, it was reported that she had been living under the pseudonym Martha Jane Cannary, the real name of Old West sharpshooter Calamity Jane.
