Jeyźa Kaelani is a beautiful model who suffers from a rare skin condition called ichthyosis, which leaves her skin thick and dry. This condition affects 1 of every 250 people in the US.
However, the condition did not stop Jeyźa from fulfilling her dream of becoming a model. She is the face of many brands in the beauty industry.
Being an inspiration, Jeyźa Kaelani shows other people that they can do whatever they want, no matter the conditions.
Jeyźa wanted to be a model from a young age.
Jeyźa loved modeling since she was a senior in high school. She recalled in an interview how her uncle took her to a prom photoshoot.
On the other hand, her friends encouraged Jeyźa to pursue a full-time career as a model. She sent many applications to modeling agencies until she found her best match.
The social media world was challenging for Kaelani.
The social media world was challenging for Jeyźa. It is scary for all people, in fact, let alone if you happen to have a rare skin condition. People find the power behind their screens to leave hateful comments, no matter the consequences. It is a pity.
Jeyźa says that she learned to focus only on positive comments. She had many negative experiences with mean people writing hateful things online. However, she is thankful that she found her current agency on Instagram.

She was featured in Vogue Italia and was the cover girl of Glamour magazine. She wrote a heartwarming message about her success: “I refuse to say ’this is crazy’ anymore because I know this is meant. This is necessary.”
Jeyźa Kaelani uses her platform to inspire other people.
“I want the platform I am walking into to be one full of boldness, confidence, and inspiration,” said Jeyźa about her social media presence.
“I am allowed to be beautiful. […]. I am allowed to inspire. I can be free. I get to exist however I desire,” shared Jeyźa online.
