Sitting too much is not healthy for your body. You might know what we are talking about if you have a desk job. The muscle pain is unbearable! That is why you should seek an active lifestyle!

However, this sedentary lifestyle can lead to health problems like diabetes or heart disease. Sitting too much throughout the daytime and not being active can affect your body.

1. Hormonal acne has a higher chance of appearing.

Having a sedentary life leads to weight gain. This brings specific skin issues. Obesity leads to drier skin, clogged pores, and inflamed acne because of the overproduction of sweat.

2. Weakened bones and muscles.

When you exercise regularly, your bones and muscles become strong. Sitting too much can weaken your bones and lower their density.

3. Sitting too much can worsen skin conditions.

When you expose your skin to friction or pressure, it can lead to a breakout. This is called Acne Mechanica. Sitting too long in certain positions puts a lot of pressure on your body.

4. It can cause cellulite.

A sedentary life may cause water retention. This will lead to reduced blood flow. Scientists say that an inactive lifestyle like this can cause cellulite.

5. Sitting too much can cause varicose veins.

While walking, the calf muscles flex and apply pressure to the main blood vessels in the lower leg, helping blood circulation. Sitting too much leads to poor blood circulation, hence the varicose veins appearance.

  1. There are other causes of what is pictured there is actually spider veins not varicose veins like carrying to full term multiple times and oxygen deprivation of any kind be it through birth, accident or violence for example.
