Tattooed Woman Claps Back at ‘Elderly Critics’ Who Disapprove Her Ink

Responding to comments that she’ll regret her tattoos as she ages, Taylor Paige Courtenay had a blunt message for her critics.

Taylor, who frequently shares personal updates on social media about her life, relationship, hair, and extensive tattoos, often receives judgment in the comments. Her body is covered in ink, from her neck and face to her stomach and legs, which has prompted some to suggest that she’ll regret her choices later in life.

However, Taylor didn’t hold back in her response to the negativity. Posting a TikTok video addressing the criticism, she captioned it, “I wish they’d keep their opinions to themselves.” In the video, Taylor quotes one of the common comments she receives: “Your tattoos are not going to look good when you hit 60+.” Unbothered, she humorously replied, “Bold of you to assume you even look good at 60.”

@saraovershares Replying to @apache_rosee The tattoos I chose were very important to me, all custom, all with meaningful designs and elements. The reason I got them was important to me, I’ve just grown and changed and I have perspective now on WHY I got them that I absolutely did not have then. At the time I just knew I was “collecting art”. Wild that you can’t imagine someone did all the “right things” and still has regrets later. #tattooregret #tattooregrets #neurodivergent #neurospicy #autismtiktok ♬ original sound – Sara Beth Clark

Many viewers applauded Taylor’s bold comeback, as it resonated with others who have faced similar comments about their tattoos. One person commented, “This is my comeback now when my family starts about them, apart from my nans ‘cause they’re older than 60 and deserve some respect.” Another added, “Screw them. Got my first ink at 17, and 15 years later, I’ve got sleeves, a chest, and a back piece. No regrets. Will still love them at 60.”

While Taylor stands by her decision to embrace tattoos, others on TikTok have expressed concerns

Sara, a woman covered in ink from head to toe, went viral for sharing her regrets about the tattoos she got in her 20s. At the time, they were meaningful custom designs, but now she feels disconnected from them.

“Imagine putting on a shirt in your 20s and having to wear it for the rest of your life,” Sara explained. “That’s what it feels like to get heavily tattooed before fully developing as an adult.” She added that her tattoos no longer align with her current “aesthetic” or reflect who she is at 36. However, despite her change in perspective, she has no plans to remove them.

In contrast, Taylor Paige Courtenay remains confident in her choices

In another video, she playfully covered her chest tattoos with a baggy jumper before revealing the full extent of her ink, saying, “Karen will say I’ve ruined myself.” Reflecting on how her tattoos have shaped her identity, Taylor accepted that she would never be the type of woman society expects.

“26 and coming to terms with the fact that I’ll never be ‘that girl,’” Taylor admitted. “I’ll never be the girl they take home to their parents, never the girl they talk about with their friends. I’ll always be the temporary fix, the girl to pass the time, the one they hide.” Despite this, Taylor stands firm in her choices, unapologetically embracing who she is.
