While the obituary did not specify the cause of death, the Maricopa medical examiner revealed to People that O’Donnell died from a gunshot wound to the head, ruling his death a suicide.
O’Donnell gained widespread popularity on TikTok, where he had close to a million followers and over 28 million likes, sharing motivational workout content that inspired his audience. On Instagram, he had a loyal following of more than 240,000 users.
In the seven-minute clip, O’Donnell said, “One of my proudest moments as a brother, being able to send these two off into the next chapter of their lives.”
The caption of his last post read, “I wonder when I leave this earth, when I leave the rat race, when I’m lying in the dirt, if you’d remember my face.”
In a December 2022 Instagram post, O’Donnell described himself as a fitness-focused content creator, though he admitted fitness was not his true passion.
He frequently spoke about his struggles with mental health, using his platform to encourage others to persevere through their challenges.
