Loving animals is one thing, but having a favorite that can kill you with a single swipe is quite another. Timothy Treadwell, known as the “Grizzly Man,” faced this harsh reality.
Frequent Visits
Timothy Treadwell was obsessed with grizzly bears and spent 13 years camping among them in Alaska. Despite warnings from friends and family, he continued his trips, driven by his passion for these salmon-eating giants.
Tragedy Strikes
During what was supposed to be a routine trip, Treadwell and Huguenard encountered a bear. While filming, the bear attacked Treadwell, mauling him to death as Huguenard recorded in shock.
The bear then turned on her, and she too was killed.
The Grizzly Man
Treadwell had been filming when the attack occurred, leaving behind six chilling minutes of audio. Werner Herzog later made a documentary about him, titled “Grizzly Man.”
Similar Incident
In another bear attack, college wrestlers Kendall Cummings and Brady Lowry were hunting in Shoshone National Forest when they encountered a bear.
Lowry was attacked, and Cummings attempted to intervene, resulting in the bear turning on him. They escaped with non-life-threatening injuries, but the mental trauma was significant.
