Erika Kirk, the widow of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, has raised close to $10 million through online crowdfunding efforts launched in the wake of her husband’s assassination. The fundraising campaigns, hosted on platforms including GiveSendGo and GoFundMe, were created to support Erika and the couple’s two young children after Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on September 10 at Utah Valley University.

According to figures from the campaigns, a significant portion of the donations came from high-profile conservative-aligned contributors. Tucker Carlson’s ALP brand accounted for approximately $5.48 million, while an additional $2.57 million was donated through a fundraising effort organized under the name “Friends of the Kirk Family.” Thousands of smaller donations from individual supporters quickly pushed the total toward the $10 million mark, reflecting a broad outpouring of sympathy and solidarity from across the conservative movement.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, Erika Kirk is expected to step into the role of chief executive officer of Turning Point USA, the organization her husband founded and led to national prominence. TPUSA is reported to generate more than $100 million in annual revenue, and Erika has expressed her intention to continue and protect Charlie Kirk’s legacy, particularly his focus on conservative youth activism.

The fundraising success, however, has also drawn public scrutiny. Questions have been raised online and in media commentary about the necessity of the donations, given reports that the Kirk family already has substantial financial protections in place, including a reported $10 million life insurance policy and the continued financial strength of Turning Point USA.

Supporters of the campaign argue that the donations are meant not only to provide long-term security for Erika and her children, but also to allow the family the freedom to grieve without immediate financial or professional pressure. Critics, meanwhile, continue to debate whether such large-scale crowdfunding is appropriate under the circumstances.

As Erika Kirk navigates both personal loss and a major leadership transition, the donations — and the discussion surrounding them — underscore the deep political and emotional impact of Charlie Kirk’s death on supporters and critics alike.
