UK’s youngest grandma, Rachel McIntyre, embraced her role when her 17-year-old daughter’s pregnancy was revealed in 2022. Despite initial astonishment from followers due to her youthful appearance, she now proudly holds the title of UK’s youngest grandma at 34.
Despite holding the distinction of UK’s youngest grandma, she is consistently ID’d due to her youthful appearance.
Rachel, who also has a 10-year-old daughter, shared: “People don’t even believe I’m my daughter’s mom. They look at me in complete shock when I tell them. They’re like, ‘Wait, are you not sisters?’ When I say I’m a granny too, it’s even more of a shock. I always get asked for ID because I look so young. It’s annoying, but it’s a bit of a compliment too.”
Rachel got pregnant at 15, experiencing the challenges of young motherhood firsthand.

She added, “My daughter only just turned 18, and I was very shocked when I found out she was pregnant. But once it sunk in, I started getting excited. I knew that I was going to support her as well.”
Rachel described the distress of witnessing her 17-year-old daughter’s labor, expressing her feelings about the experience, “The labor was a bit horrific, but thankfully my granddaughter is such a good baby. She doesn’t cry. She just makes noises when she’s hungry and eats and sleeps.”
Nevertheless, she firmly maintains that even though she resembles her granddaughter’s mother more than her grandmother, she wouldn’t prefer any other title.

She told DailyMail, “I want to be called granny. I would never want to be called just Rachel. She’s, my angel.”
After her tummy tuck in Turkey, Rachel eagerly anticipates hitting the gym. She highlights the advantage of youthful vigor in engaging actively with her granddaughter.
“I’m looking forward to getting into the gym to get my body looking the best it’s ever been,” said Rachel McIntyre.
She concluded, “The biggest upside to being such a young granny is that I’ve got a lot more energy. When my granddaughter is a bit older, I can take her out to places and I won’t be tired like older grannies. I don’t think there are any downsides to being a granny at 34. I’ve not been judged for it yet, but it will probably happen. I’m not bothered, though. People will criticize anything these days. Life is all about being happy, and as long as you’re happy, then you’ll go far.”
