At the age of 41, Paris Hilton and her husband, Carter Reum, joyfully embraced parenthood. Their son, Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum, arrived on January 16, 2023, through surrogacy. This new chapter in their lives came when Paris’s frequent travels, which used to consume 250 days a year, finally eased up, allowing the couple to plan for their family.

Paris initially kept the baby’s arrival a secret.

The couple, who married in late 2021, concealed the news for over a week. She used a wig and alias when entering the hospital to evade media attention, even keeping her mother Kathy Hilton in the dark. Paris eventually shared Phoenix’s birth on Instagram eight days later, expressing her long-held desire to become a mother and her gratitude for meeting her husband at the right time.

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Paris couldn’t contain her joy when discussing her baby. She lovingly referred to Phoenix as an angel, gushing, “He is such an angel, he’s the best. I’m just so obsessed with him; I feel my heart is going to explode.”

She shared adorable pictures of her nine-month-old son, Phoenix, during his first visit to NYC. While many fans couldn’t resist his cuteness, others voiced worries about his health.

Some fans, like a nurse, noted that Phoenix’s head appeared larger, possibly indicating macrocephaly. Concerned comments urged Paris to seek evaluation from a pediatric neurosurgeon. Yet, it’s important to remember that a person’s health can’t be accurately assessed from a few photos, and neither Paris nor her husband, Reum, has addressed these concerns publicly.

During her podcast, Paris mentioned that she sees a resemblance between Phoenix and herself, a sentiment her husband shared, noting their baby’s striking similarity in their eyes.

The meaning behind his name

For a considerable time, the name “Phoenix Barron” had occupied Paris’s thoughts. She explained its profound meaning, likening her son’s journey to the resilient phoenix that emerges from ashes to soar once more. Paris envisions her child growing up with the understanding that setbacks should never deter him, and that hope should always light his path through life’s challenges. Additionally, the middle name, “Barron,” serves as a heartfelt tribute to her late grandfather, Barron Hilton, who had been her guiding mentor.

After Phoenix, Paris, and Carter are actively pursuing a baby girl, awaiting results from her latest procedure to fulfill her dream of becoming a girl mom.
