On her podcast, Bell shared that her 5-year-old daughter still wore diapers. She said: “My oldest daughter, at 21 months, we merely suggested that she use the toilet in the other room. Never wore a diaper beyond that. Currently, my youngest is 5 and a half. Still in diapers.”

However, Bell and Shepard announced that after potty training, Delta did not put on diapers any more. ‘Every kid is so different,” said Kristen.

  1. I never rushed mine either had Weber he let me know when he was ready and that was around 3 yrs old. My sister on the other hand, forced all her kids at 1 1/2 to 2 yrs old and every single one of her kids pee’d the bed until about the age of 10-12. I say why rush it. If they’re not showing signs of being ready, let it be.

  2. Yes every kid is different but it seems youve forgotten the psychological impact it will have on a non toilet trained daughter.start now before its too late..!it seemed like you’re even proud telling the whole world you’re daughter still wearing diaper at age 5.?! Whew.! What do you think she will feel about it when she’s age 10.?

  3. Disgraceful, at 5 she should not be still wearing diapers. You are not parenting properly and I cannot believe you want to share that. Does she go to school and if so why are the school not telling you she should be using the toilets from a long time ago, you are just making her lazy. What happens if she goes on a sleep over and sees her friends are all potty trained, must be really embarrassing for her.

    • First of all, she is 5. 5! Some kids have a different schedule. That is not lazy parenting. I have a 5 years old that trained at 2.5. My other child will probably be 5. Get off your soap box.
