To use it, simply blend a few onions, extract the juice, and massage it into your scalp for 15 minutes before rinsing it out with shampoo.
2. Green tea
In an experiment, scientists applied green tea extract to the scalps of test subjects to evaluate its effectiveness in promoting hair regrowth. After four days, significant growth was observed, demonstrating that green tea accelerates hair growth. Furthermore, green tea has a protective effect on the scalp skin and enhances hair follicle health. This is particularly apparent for those who consume green tea supplements, as they experience improved circulation and oxygenation.
3. Egg yolk mask
Sulfur, a crucial element for hair growth, can be found in egg yolks. Although there isn’t enough evidence yet to confirm the impact of egg yolks on hair growth, it won’t do any harm to try a DIY hair mask. To make the mask, simply blend 2-3 egg yolks with 2-3 drops of lemon juice, apply it to your scalp using your fingers, put on a shower cap, and leave the mixture on for 20 minutes. After that, rinse it off with either cold or warm water.
Ginseng offers numerous advantages, one of which is promoting hair growth by triggering the hair follicles. Although limited studies exist, a 2018 study has demonstrated substantial potential. To reap the benefits of ginseng, it can be consumed as a supplement. Nevertheless, it is crucial to seek medical advice before consuming any pills.
5. Pumpkin seed oil
In 2014, a group of researchers conducted a study with men who had a history of alopecia or male pattern baldness. The results showed that those who consumed 400 ml of pumpkin seed oil daily for 6 months experienced a 40% increase in hair growth, while those who took a placebo saw only a 10% increase.

6. Licorice root

However, as the root can be difficult to find, using licorice tea mixed with Indian gooseberry powder or henna may serve as an alternative. This mixture has been used by many individuals to address various hair problems, such as lacklustre hair, dandruff, and split ends. It is recommended to consult with a doctor before directly applying licorice to your scalp to ensure it is the best option for you.
7. Cayenne pepper
The Cayenne pepper is famous for boosting circulation and therefore could be an effective solution for hair loss. To utilize its benefits, you can mix it with olive oil to create a homemade oil that can be used like any other hair oil. Ensure that you let the mixture steep for 10 to 15 days before use and keep it protected from sunlight. Another option is to create a paste using Cayenne pepper and olive oil, which can be massaged onto the scalp.
8. Saw palmetto
A 2-year study uncovered impressive hair growth in men who were experiencing baldness. Although saw palmetto is not a commonly used ingredient, the participants in the study took 320 mg of it every day for 2 years. After the study, they observed significant hair growth, particularly in the vertex region of the scalp, which is located at the top and back.
